Budo Martial Arts is fully committed to upholding the highest standards of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all [vulnerable group, e.g., children, adults at risk] within our operations, adhering to the latest guidelines as published by the English Karate Federation.

Key Safeguarding Measures in Place:

  • Instructors:

      Our instructors undergo enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks, identity verification and first aid training.

  • Policies and Procedures:

      We have robust safeguarding policies and procedures clearly documented and accessible to all staff, covering areas such as child protection, whistle-blowing, and incident reporting.

  • Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL):

Our organization has a designated DSL who is responsible for overseeing safeguarding matters, providing support, and coordinating responses to any concerns.

  • Monitoring and Review:

     We regularly review and update our safeguarding practices to ensure they remain effective and aligned with current legislation and best practices.

We confirm that:

  • All staff have been informed of their safeguarding responsibilities and are obligated to report any concerns immediately.

  • We have clear procedures for managing allegations of abuse, including immediate reporting to relevant authorities when necessary.

  • We actively promote a culture of openness and accountability, encouraging staff and individuals to raise concerns without fear of reprisal.
